Description

Improving quality, controlling cost increases, and minimizing variation in care are critical interests for state government, economic development, insurers, providers, and the people of North Carolina. Timely data is needed to increase transparency in the pricing and variation in health care. An All-Payer Claims Database (APCD) is one approach to increasing transparency and allowing public health and hospital systems to aggregate claims data to better inform strategies around disease management, system planning and priority setting, prevention, and public health programming.
