The NCIOM Task Force on Early Childhood Obesity Prevention was charged with examining evidence-based and promising practices from North Carolina and national task forces, in addition to developing a strategic plan that can prevent or reduce early childhood obesity among children ages 0-5 in North Carolina that can also serve as a blueprint for other foundations, associations, or government entities. The Task Force met 14 times between September 2011 and May 2013 and developed a total of 15 strategies in the clinical, community/environment, and policy areas.
