Report of the Task Force to Reduce Infant Mortality and Morbidity: Phase 1 Identification of Major Factors

The Kate B. Reynolds Health Care Trust and the NCIOM developed plans and priorities for lowering infant mortality and morbidity in North Carolina. The subsequent task force created to address these issues assigned a subcommittee to draw upon available data to describe the principal factors associated with infant mortality and morbidity, and to identify the gaps in knowledge and/or data collection systems for Phase 1 of the Task Force’s plan. Recommendations were made to improve knowledge through improved data collection systems.
