Brady Blackburn, former communications director at the Foundation for Health Leadership and Innovation (FHLI), has joined the North Carolina Institute of Medicine as interim communications director and managing editor of the North Carolina Medical Journal. In addition to his previous work at FHLI, Blackburn previously served as a legislative assistant in the North Carolina House of Representatives.
"Brady’s experience with health policy, publication management, and strategic communications development is a great asset to NCIOM’s work, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our team," said Michelle Ries, President and CEO of the NCIOM.

As communications director, Blackburn will play a key role in aligning communications across NCIOM projects and advancing the organization's mission to improve the health and well-being for all North Carolinians.
Brady Blackburn received a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and a master’s degree in media and communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
