Who: Keynote Speaker Dr. Susan Hassmiller, PhD, RN, FAAN, is Senior Advisor for Nursing at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. A national leader in nursing, Dr. Hassmiller has devoted her career to strengthening the profession, improving population health, and advancing health equity. Her session will focus on national nursing workforce challenges in the context of challenges and opportunities facing the broader health care workforce ecosystem.
The event will also include a plenary panel focused on North Carolina’s unique workforce challenges and innovations, a legislative roundtable on the role of state lawmakers in workforce development, and breakout sessions on priorities for workforce development and strengthening the resilience and equity of North Carolina’s health workforce.
