Community, Resilience, and Hope: Achieving Healthy NC 2030 Behavioral Health Goals

 

What: The North Carolina Institute of Medicine’s 2021 Annual Meeting will explore the behavioral health goals identified by Healthy NC 2030. With a focus on community resilience and equity, the Annual Meeting will feature speakers who are experts in substance use and overdose, access to behavioral health services, suicide prevention, and adverse childhood experiences.

 

Who: Wizdom Powell, PhD, MPH, MS, is the keynote speaker. Director of the Health Disparities Institute and associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Powell is a trained population health disparities research scientist and clinical psychiatrist. Her work focuses on social determinants of health inequities among boys and men of color.

Speakers include LaToya Powell, JD, deputy general counsel at the NC Department of Public Safety and Betsey Tilson, MD, MPH, state health director and chief medical officer at the NC Department of Health and Human Services, among many others. Click here for the full agenda.
