Transforming Medicaid in North Carolina

What: NCIOM's 2019 Annual Meeting will examine Medicaid transformation in North Carolina. Discussion topics will include the Healthy Opportunities Pilots, the NCCARE360 resource platform, navigating the transition, monitoring, oversight, evaluation, and special populations.

Who: The annual meeting will include presentations from Mandy Cohen, MD, MPH, secretary of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and keynote speaker Frederick Isasi, JD, MPH, executive director of Families USA, a health care consumer nonprofit. Breakout sessions will feature presentations by representatives from each of the Medicaid Prepaid Health Plans, North Carolina Medicaid, and more.

Where:

McKimmon Conference Center
1101 Gorman Street, Raleigh, NC 27606

Articles written by Secretary Cohen, the PHPs, and other stakeholders will also be available at ncmedicaljournal.com beginning September 2.

When: Thursday, September 5th 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
(Please contact Kaitlin Phillips if you are interested in the full agenda.)

Why: Stakeholders have many questions about the upcoming transformation of Medicaid to a managed care system with implementation scheduled to begin in November. The NCIOM Annual Meeting provides a forum for stakeholders to gather to ask questions, share knowledge, and prepare for what comes next.
