Amanda Gomez is an intern/research assistant at the NCIOM, currently working on projects related to the NCIOM Task Force on Maternal Health, Supporting Local Planning for Substance Use Disorder and Overdose Prevention Strategies. Amanda has previously worked at the Chatham County Health Department on the EMBRACe project (Equity for Mothers and Babies Realized Across Chatham): a project that seeks to ensure successful and equitable birth outcomes in Chatham County, NC, and at the UNC Center for Maternal and Child Health. Amanda is completing her doctorate in maternal and child health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Gillings School of Global Public Health.
